Jessica Simpson was born in July of 1980. At an early age it was evident to everybody around her that she had what it took to be a musical star. By the late 1990?s she had risen to fame thanks to not only her music career, but also her marriage to 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey.
When Simpson and her ex-husband Lachey decided to star in a reality show for MTV, Newlyweds, her career began to take off. This is when everybody took a look at all of her talent as well as some of her shortcomings. But even though Newlyweds brought some bad to her life, it is safe to say that this is when her career really took off.
In 1999, Simpson?s first single, I Wanna Love you Forever, reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Shortly after this, her album Sweet Kisses was released. This album ended up going double platinum thanks in large part to two more popular singles; Where You Are and I Think I?m In Love With You. Although Simpson?s debut album sold more than two million copies, she was still having a hard time keeping up with other pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
In 2001, Simpson released yet another album. This time around she offered more up tempo tracks that were geared towards a radio audience. The result was the album, Irresistible. A single by the same name was also released. This song climbed all the way to number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. To date, more than 800,000 copies of Irresistible have been sold.
In addition to her singing career, Simpson is also well known for her good looks. In fact, these looks have helped her to transition to life on the big screen. In her first role, Simpson portrayed Daisy Duke in a remake of the popular television show, The Dukes of Hazzard. In the first week at the box office, this movie was number one; due in large part to Simpson showing off her body.
Jessica Simpson has been making money with her voice, good looks, and acting career for many years. And it is safe to say that her career is not going to slow down anytime in the near future.
